Really pleased to have this on my layout. Quirky and it gives the grandchildren some interest.
However, I have a couple of niggles from a modelling perspective.
First, the direction of travel of the arm cannot be changed. I had installed it for one direction and then the arm swung in the other. Swapping the polarity had no effect.
Secondly the arm chain is fixed to the bracket and is not easy to remove. The first operation almost broke the bracket. It’s a good job the plastic bends.
Finally, the operational height seems too low. I appreciate that the pipe is designed to fit not tender and tank engines and in real life would fit inside the tender, but it is, in my opinion, 10mm too low. Just cutting the pipe would unbalance the look of the model.
Otherwise a great item.
