Initially I was disappointed. 2/4 of the truck I ordered had defects (warped chassis and bent axel) that meant they wouldn’t run properly. Spares were sent free of charge and they fit the bill. Truthfully though, I am now hesitant to purchase from Dapol again.

Having been an Official Dapol Dealer back in the days of David Boyle I favour Dapol unpainted wagons for using as the basic model for completing a serious wagon modelling project. Since 1975 I have been a professional modeller and have used Dapol unpainted wagons as my starter for many projects.

This 9'-0" wheelbase wagon is ideal for producing the older 20th century model. Having a realistic looking timber underframe moulded in hard wearing plastic it exhibits the details serious modellers look forward to in a model. This wagon does not have an end door so it is ideal for a none mineral or coal carrying wagon. The only disappointment is the lack of external diagonal strapping but this can be added by impressing rivet detail into a length of Microstip and gluing onto the wagon. The result is a wagon in use in Great Britain at the period known as Pre-Grouping.
