Guild O Gauge Stafford Show 2022 Updates

Dapol & Lionheart Trains were delighted to attend the first Guild O Gauge Guildex show at Bingley Hall on Stafford County Showground. We had a great time talking with many of the Guild members as well as having Phil Parker and Andy York from BRM come onto the stand for a visit. 

Although slightly delayed (due to preparing for TINGS 2022) we are extremly excited to share with you the developments and product launches that were on show at Guildex.

Austerity / J94 0-6-0

The latest engineering prototypes for the Austerity / J94 0-6-0 locomotives were on show and very widely praised by the public and the press alike. We are pleased to provide some provisional images below. Progress

The design team is currently reviewing the EP samples and working on the artworks necessary to produce decorated samples.  We hope to see the finished models in the shops mid way through 2023.

L&B Signal

The decorated samples of the L&B 7mm scale signals have already been planted in the new Dapol/Lionheart Trains layout depicting Chelfam station on the L&B Railway so they were not able to make it to the show. We have provided an image of the decorated sample below for you to enjoy. One point of note is that the finial will be painted white during production rather than red as is seen on the decorated sample.

The layout will be on permanent display in the lobby at Dapol in the near future should anyone wish to see it.

The design team have provided feedback to the factory and we are waiting for the models to go through the production process. we anticipate they will be in shops for you to buy sometime during Q1 2023.

L&B Locomotives & Coaches

The latest Lionheart Trains O-16.5 locomotive and coach decorated samples were present at the show and received a lot of praise from the people who visited the stand. Both the locos and the coaching stock decorations are finished to an extremely high standard. A sample of each locomotive along with one of each livery/coach body type was available to view and are shown below in a series of photographs below.

Dapol proudly launched its second run of 4800/14xx/5800 0-4-2 locomotives at this years Guildex show. We are currently waiting for samples to be sent from the factory and hope to see these models in shops sometime early in 2023. BR Standard 3MT Engineering Prototype

The BR Standard 3MT EP was on show for all to see and the level of detail is quite frankly outstanding. even the hand built EP has a solid feeling of quality to it that has become surnominous with Lionheart Trains models.
